“There was a moment when I realized I deserve to be healthy.”

Molly describes her dad as a “health nut.” So, it came as no surprise to her when he decided that he needed to join Arivale—and that she was coming along for the ride too.

Molly, a high school senior, was initially a little reluctant, but knowing she wanted to lose weight and take control of her wellness before leaving for college, she ultimately decided to get on board.

As she wraps up her first year in the program, Molly’s attitude towards her wellness and body has transformed.

“I think about what I learned from my genetics in particular, and it’s changed my lifestyle. It blew me away,” Molly explains, “Everything felt out of my hands for a while. Then I started Arivale, and my wellness feels more in my control.”

Molly learned from her weight loss genetics that she has a higher genetic predisposition for having a high BMI and waist circumference. Rather than letting this knowledge discourage her, Molly felt more aware and better prepared to tackle her weight loss goal. She had context for her struggles to lose weight, and she began to recognize each small lifestyle change as a victory on her bigger journey. She also learned, through her genetics, that her body would respond better to a low-fat diet when trying to lose weight.

Molly worked with her Arivale Coach, Jaclyn, to be more mindful about her eating. With support from her Coach, Molly worked to make specific dietary changes and recognize what triggered unhealthy habits.

Molly really saw the impact of her behavior changes when she came home from her job as a summer camp counselor. “This was the first time in four years I didn’t gain weight at camp!” she says.

From her sports genetics, Molly’s Coach encouraged her to add strength training to her exercise routine. At first, she was afraid to try strength training, as she thought it wouldn’t help her to lose weight, and she didn’t want to “bulk up.” Because of her relationships with her Arivale Coach and her personal trainer, Molly was able to face these misconceptions with confidence—and she’s seen tremendous results.

Molly reached her weight-loss goal before she left for her freshman year of college in September. Now she’s challenging herself to continue to try new things and prioritize her health overall.

“I’m feel like I’m a lot more ‘out there,’” she explains, “I’m more willing to try different things—especially in exercise. I’m signing up for classes at the gym I would never have done before… My goal now is to love myself and feel healthy overall. To love my body no matter what and love myself enough to prioritize my health.”

Molly has been a pleasure to work with and has such a wonderful, positive outlook. She is so level-headed and has really taken control of her health. I am looking forward to working with her as she transitions to college with a healthy lifestyle in tow!

I want to thank Jaclyn for her consistency and kindness. I’m most thankful to work with her because I don’t feel silly asking any questions.
